In 2000 Joe Holweger’s band, Dimestars, signed to Polydor records and recorded an album, subsequently
supporting Kylie Minogue on her ‘On a night like this’ tour. Although critical acclaim never turned into huge
chart success, Joe’s song writing talent was clear and his career as a writer/ producer and busy session
musician took off.
Teaming up with pop songwriters Terry Ronald & Ian Masterson in 2002, ‘Thriller Jill’ was born, & Joe found
himself writing and recording for artists like Girls Aloud, Dannii Minogue, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Geri Halliwell,
and many others. During this time he also toured with Belinda Carlisle, Alex Parks, and played in several
bands; sometimes playing bass or guitar, and at other times drums- whatever was required!
Realising he had an ear for a hook, Joe decided to broaden his horizons and started composing for
Television, setting up Holweger music in 2008. Recently scoring music for ‘Little Britain down under’ and
‘Wayne Rooney’s street striker’, Holweger music is off to a winning start, and compliments perfectly Joe’s
continuing success as a pop songwriter and live player. |
